“
The simulator training that I just received from Richard Bertoli in the Cirrus simulator was incredibly valuable. As an ex-military and 20-year airline pilot with more time giving and receiving instruction than I can count, I can attest to the unique ability to practice skills in a land-based training device. Simply stated, you can experience situations that would be impossible (or unsafe) to replicate in the aircraft. I intend to make a commitment to return to the simulator at least once every 12 months and it would be my strongest suggestion that other Cirrus pilots do the same. This type of training will undeniably save aircraft and lives.”

Rich - Thanks for being such a devious gremlin. We will do it again soon.”

“
I found the simulator to be very educational and essential training for G1000 glass cockpit and Cirrus Aircraft flight. In addition, without the full motion simulator training, I would have had a very difficult transition from steam gauges to glass cockpit environments.”

“
In December 2006, I had my first training experience in the Cirrus SimTrain Simulator in Atlanta. My wife and I, with my wife in the right seat, spent nearly 5 hours executing approach procedures in both day and night conditions with multiple system failures. Obviously, most of what we accomplished could not have been done in the aircraft. Our instructor Cliff Izer is among the most knowledgeable and professional instructors that I have ever worked with. We spent about 4 hours of ground instruction along with the simulator instruction. The cost of this training is the best value that I could expect.
SimTrain training with Cliff Izer is on my schedule for refresher every six months. I already accomplish 10 hours of recovery from unusual attitudes (in an aerobatic CAP10B) training annually. SimTrain training and the unusual attitude training is the very least that I owe my passengers (and myself) when we launch the Cirrus.”

“
Just wanted to drop you a line regarding my SimTrain sessions in Atlanta last week. Looks to me that a lot of work has gone to set up a full motion Cirrus simulator. You guys have done a great job. I particularly like the fact that Larry was able to switch the sim to the 6 pack version, like the one I fly. It was very realistic, I was truly impressed. The time I have spent will definitely accelerate my IFR training. I would recommended this for anyone that is working on an IFR rating or even periodic practicing.
I did spend some time doing free flying, including stalls, spins and all kinds of stuff that I was hesitant about doing in the real plane. It made me feel more comfortable at the controls, I also couldn’t resist in pulling the chute.
I can’t speak about the other SimTrain locations, but the one in Atlanta is very nice. Refreshments, High speed Internet and much more. My Instructor Larry Russell really knows his stuff.”
Thanks again.

Thanks again for the ‘fun time’ in the sim today—it was a real treat to fly a fully functional airplane home today. I certainly feel I learned a lot about things to keep in mind for future flying, and I believe I will be more confident in dealing with emergency situations.”
